“Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you. Love me and I may be forced to love you.” – William Arthur Ward

When they had read it, they rejoiced over its encouragement. (Acts 15:31)

What kind of impact does validating others have?
What would the world be like if we all took a purposeful intent to be more validating of others?

In late October 2008 I went to the Relational Coaching Network (RCN) retreat at a beach house in Virginia Beach as guests of Jerry and Sharon Graham. In response to an email request by Tony Stoltzfus, a well-known, well-respected coach trainer who is the founder of the RCN, I agreed to videotape a session at the retreat about “How to Form and Run a Coaching Cell.”

Tony felt very strongly that for coaches to continue to be part of the RCN, they needed to participate in their coaching cell groups with at least 3 life coaches. So on December 4, Jerry, Deborah Smith, and I had our first 3-way coaching meeting over the phone. During that meeting, Jerry recommended we invite Ben Stewart to also be part of our group, which we gladly did. Ben accepted.

Yesterday afternoon, we had our first 4-way coaching cell group meeting with Jerry, Deb, Ben, and me, with Jerry serving as facilitator. Wow! This was an awesome blessings for all four of us with lots of encouragement and validation.

During the course of our conversation, Jerry shared one of his recent “two-way” (Jesus and him) journal entries. That prompted me to share one of my recent two-way journal entries. In response to that, Deb said that one of the things the LORD is holding her accountable to from this conversation is to journal again.

Later I shared a recent revelation that members of Team Destiny are like players on the same football team. When one player (e.g. the quarterback) does very well, that’s good for the entire team and all the players regardless of their role or notoriety. In response to that Jerry said, “Everyone gets the Super Bowl ring when the team wins.”

This led Jerry to highly recommend that we all watch a 16 minute movie about validation that he wrote about in one of his Daily Gram blog posts on December 5. Jerry said that is one of his favorite short videos in the past several years. Jerry reminded all of us that validating others is part of our DNA as coaches.

So after our meeting, I read Jerry’s blog post titled “Power of Validation” and then watched the video on that web page. That was well worth my time and such an encouragement that I decided to make today’s message about that. Enjoy the video at today’s Link of the Day.

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, we praise You as the God of encouragement, the greatest Encourager ever, the God who validates us as children of God. I pray that everyone who watches the validation video will feel encouraged and validated, so much so that they will encourage and validate many others whom they meet. Thank You Jesus. Amen and hallelujah!

“There is not one wise man in twenty that will praise himself.”
William Shakespeare

Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth;
A stranger, and not your own lips. (Proverbs 27:2)

How much value do you place on the testimonies
of those who a person well?

The praises and testimonies you are about to read all came from friends who know me very well – people who have personally experienced the fruit of my journaling. I met nearly all of them since reading “The Greatest Salesman In The World” in 2000. Next to the Bible that book influenced me more than any other I have ever read.

Each person sharing his or her praise has made a big difference in my life and I have made a big difference in theirs. That is what covenant relationships are all about – two-way relationships in which people meet the needs of one another and bless one another.

Our God is a “covenant God” – a God of covenant relationships. Very few followers of Jesus fully grasp the significance of this in terms of their relationships with other people and their success in the marketplace.

One of the five laws of sowing and reaping is that you reap where you sow. In other words, if I sow good seed into your life, it is reasonable to expect a harvest from you. To put it another way, when someone blesses me, God expects me to bless them.

One of the reasons the Jewish people prosper so greatly as a whole in the marketplace is they understand covenant relationships and the principles of sowing and reaping.

The Holy Spirit prompted me to include hyperlinks to the websites and blogs of those who have impacted me greatly because I am a CONNECTOR IN CHRIST. Though me, God is connecting YOU to these life and world changers. Contact them as the Holy Spirit leads you. These people can and will open doors for you. They will partner with some of you. As the Nike slogan says, “Just do it!” Or as God says, “Be strong and of good courage!”

———————————————————————————————————-

Dr. Randy Peck has become an uncommon follower of an uncommon Man…the Lord Jesus Christ! Randy models our Savior by manifesting the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23). A large part of Randy’s maturity has been because he is mastering journaling. Dr. Peck’s book “UNCOMMON Journaling for Breakthroughs” will mirror his heart – a heart that is seeking God’s heart.

Randy Peck is an incredible leader with a heart that reflects Christ at all times. Randy has an insatiable desire to help others through divinely inspired insight and discernment. While Randy is a client, he also is a provider of web and internet marketing services. He is a leader in social networks, blogs and journaling. I believe that Randy is the foremost journaler of all times. He inspires others through his God given ability helping others see their gifting while encouraging them to activate plans of action meeting their goals. Randy remains an accountability partner to help others soar! That’s Randy, a gifted medical doctor and life coach extraordinaire!!

——————————–

“I don’t know anyone that has become a student, or master, of journaling to the level of Randy Peck. He has a passion for sharing with others, the gifts of journaling – some of those gifts include focus, organization, personal life impact and the simple yet powerful capture of life’s moments and memories.

Randy has probably spent a good part of a year distilling, developing and perfecting how to best communicate, share and teach others the life transforming skill of journaling. He conducted several online webinars/seminars that gave him the opportunity to optimize the best way to share his material. In addition, he now has several testimonies of people that have benefitted from learning and applying journaling in their lives. Many are now reaping the life changing impact of this powerful habit, that Randy himself has benefitted from personally for several years.”

——————————–

There is so much to be said about the spoken word. The Bible says in the beginning God spoke and the Holy Spirit was hovering over the water to respond to the spoken word. In the same way the prophets prophesied and the Holy Spirit was there to respond to the word. Through journaling, the word is written, again the Holy Spirit is there to respond to the word. I see an incredible awakening in the spirit of people who journal. Thoughts are written and later reflections in the journal reveal how the Holy Spirit has intervened. It’s amazing. It’s supernatural. It’s a real spirit builder. Scales begin to fall off your eyes and humbles one to desire the will of God.

——————————–

I met Randy right around the time that he began his faith walk with Jesus. We struck up a friendship that has lasted and grown. I may have been one of the first people to introduce Randy to journaling. Randy, though, is a voracious and quick learner. What I casually suggested as a simple tool and habit, Randy has latched onto, perfected, and used as the cornerstone of personal and spiritual growth. Today, I am learning from him in the arena of journaling and personal leadership. Randy may be the most organized, focused, productive person I know. He attributes most of his personal development and success to journaling, and as a close friend who would love to achieve half of what Randy accomplishes, I would agree: Journaling is the lead domino in his life.

You have blessed me and everyone you’ve met and it is I who feel humbled. I thank God every day for your spirit and your mentorship. You are a phenomenal “coach” and you practice what you preach.

You are the power networker who has brought us all together. Thank you for being such a willing servant.

You are the most positive person I know… I’ve admired your perseverance this year … you have touched so many lives and God has given you convergences with the leaders in social marketing. God has trained you for this and He’s going to use you in consulting projects that are Kingdom building and exactly in step with the desires of your heart. With your intercessors on board I feel it happening right now!!!

Randy is the greatest dreamer I have ever known!

LORD, help us to be better Samaritans… That is our primary command . And this story (Good Samaritan) is the essence of the MTC story… And this is the story that we ask You to help us tell the world… And as I was thinking about this word Samaritan, I can’t think of anyone who better exemplifies ‘Samaritan’ than Randy.” (Virginia’s prayer on Feb 10, 2009)

I have developed strong relationships with almost every coach I have ever been blessed to work with, but the relationship between Randy and me has proved to be very special. While he has been an extremely receptive student of coaching, I would have to say that I often feel I have learned more from working with Randy than he could possibly have learned from me. He has truly become my peer mentor.

You can’t be around Dr. Randy Peck very long without hearing him tell about how journaling has impacted his life. Randy shares freely and frequently with all how journaling has, time after time, helped him to put together the “pieces of the puzzle” and brought him clarity on how God is speaking to him. As he puts it, journaling continues to be the “lead domino” of his life. The benefits he has realized from recording his own daily walk of faith have led him to develop a system which can be taught to others.

God has inspired Randy to set some “God-sized” goals for his personal life, one of which is to impact one billion souls for Christ. I believe that his development of this journaling system falls right in line with this goal, in that the intent is to influence every recipient in such a way that they too will begin to see more clearly through journaling how God is speaking to them each day, that they will therefore be able to share these God-experiences with others. Thank-you, Dr. Peck!

When we look back in American History it seems evident that more than a few of our founding fathers really had a deep love for the new nation. It is increasingly rare to find leaders today who give you a sense that they really love their city, state or country. More often than not civic leaders today seem more concerned with themselves and their political careers than with the people they supposedly serve. I had the privilege of meeting someone recently who actually appears to genuinely love the city and state in which he resides. He is Dr. Randy Peck. Randy has such a love for his city Culpeper and Virginia that it exudes out of him in almost every conversation he holds. It is said that one speaks out of the abundance of his heart and I can testify that Dr. Peck has both Culpeper and the state of Virginia deep in his heart. I have never met someone who has such a genuine love for his city and state as this man.

Hi Randy & Julia, AJ and I can’t thank each of you enough so that you would know how much you blessed us over the weekend. You are such a great couple. Your hospitality was tremendous and we really enjoyed just being in your home and company. Your group really blessed AJ and me. It is truly the first success story we have had. We have never had anyone come alongside us like the two of you. It is truly a God send. Randy, you have an amazing gift that transcends any single gift. You go wide and deep in your thinking and planning. Your mind doesn’t stop.

Hi Randy, Thank you so much. Your group was far and away the best group I have ever met. I’ll never forget the meeting we had following the process. (January 29, 2009)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)

On a scale of 1-10, how would I rate my nutritional health?
My physical health?
The stress in my life?
How much is good health worth to me?
What person is capable to coach me to optimal health?
Who do I know who needs a godly nutrition coach?

From my physician’s perspective, I suspect that Sharon Graham is one of the best nutritional coaches in the world. Why? God has gifted her with the unique combination of the background of a registered nurse, the understanding of how to do proper research, and the heart, training, and expertise of a loving Christian life coach. Sharon understands the importance of stress in disease and recognizes many of the same ills of modern-day medicine that I do.

How did we get connected? The answer to that question is important to determine whether my connection to Sharon was a good connection or God-ordained one. In December 2006, Joseph Umidi, cofounder of Transformation Leadership Coaching, drove all the way from Virginia Beach to Culpeper for a small Healthy Virginia meeting. After meeting me, he referred Sharon to me. Sharon sent an email to me, but I never received it.

Half a year later, on June 1, 2007, I met Jerry Graham at my first Accelerated Coach Training (ACT) workshop at Virginia Beach. Jerry came to that to observe Scott Wozniac in his coach training role because he had helped train Scott. When our group went to lunch, Jerry and I happened to sit next to one another. When Jerry learned what I do, he quickly connected me with Sharon. Within a month, they both had become web clients of mine.

Just as Jerry is known as the “pastor’s coach,” Sharon is known as the “nutritional coach.” If you make the time to do so, you’ll be quite impressed by reading what some of Sharon’s former clients have to say at today’s Link of the Day.

Recognizing her nutritional expertise, the Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) recently filmed Sharon for a health segment broadcast on world-wide TV. You can watch that short video on the homepage at www.nutrition777.com. It’s easy to receive free nutritional counsel from Sharon by signing up for Sharon and Jerry Graham’s “Daily Gram” at one of their websites.

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, thank You for Sharon Graham and her many gifts to help people take care of their bodies. Thank You for the healthy nutritional products she markets. Open the right doors to greatly magnify her impact. Give her the platform to change the lives of millions of people around the world. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Just as a lighthouse serves as a guide to aid navigation through water, a coach serves as a guide to aid navigation through life by helping a person move from one place to another. – Jerry and Sharon Graham

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:19)

If you could only do one thing to bless your pastor and church, what would that be?
If you could only do one thing to leap forward into living a healthy lifestyle, what would that be?

Two of the nicest, neatest, and influential people I have met in 2007 are Jerry and Sharon Graham, collectively known as The Coaching Pair. Their slogan and life purpose is “guiding you to your destiny.” I highly, highly recommend you learn more about them by visiting their website at today’s Link of the Day. Even if you don’t think you would benefit from their services, I’m confident you know someone who would.

I met Dr. Jerry Graham on June 1 at my very first Accelerated Coach Training (ACT) workshop in Norfolk Virginia. He wasn’t even taking the course, but he had come to observe Scott Wozniac, our coach trainer. Jerry had actually trained Scott to be both a life coach and a coach trainer. When the group of us went to lunch that day, I got to know Jerry better. Within a month, God blessed me to pick up The Coaching Pair as a web client. Wow!!!

Jerry and Sharon Graham are both certified Christian life coaches. As close friends of Joseph and Marie Umidi, they were involved in the birthing of Transformational Leadership Coaching, Inc (TLCI). Together, they completed the very first series of coaching courses offered by TLCI to become certified life coaches seven years ago.

So far, Jerry has provided more than 3,000 hours of paid professional life coaching, while training more than 200 Christian life coaches. Because of Sharon’s background as a registered nurse and interest in nutrition, Sharon and Jerry also have 1,700 contacts in their nutrition network. Think of all the lives this couple is changing. They are absolutely amazing.

As “The Pastor’s Coach,” Jerry’s coaching specialty is helping God’s shepherds be all that He has destined them to be. He coaches pastors to reach goals they’ve set for themselves as well as for their churches.

As “The Nutritional Coach,” Sharon knows how to educate, support, and empower people as they learn the truth about living a healthy lifestyle and making changes that you’re ready and able to make.

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, thank You for connecting me to Jerry and Sharon Graham and for our budding friendship. Thank You for the many lives they have touched through their astounding ministry. Bless them! Exponentially multiply their ministry through the web. May people who read this message seize this opportunity You have placed before them. Thank You Jesus! We love and adore You. Amen and Hallelujah! Praise the LORD!
